Before you go

A 50% deposit confirms your dates; the balance is due on arrival. Free changes up to 30 days before departure, and a clear, fair cancellation policy we'll walk you through before you commit.

Layers for 30°C days and near-freezing nights, sturdy walking shoes, a swimsuit for the lakes, sun protection and a refillable bottle. A full season-specific list lands in your pre-departure pack.

Accept tea when it's offered. Remove shoes inside homes and yurts, ask before photographing people, and dress modestly at mosques and mausoleums. Your guide will quietly steer you right.

Tap water is best avoided outside the cities; we keep bottled water in the vehicle. Altitude at the lakes is mild but real — take the first day slow. Your guide carries a first-aid kit and a satellite messenger on remote stretches.
